The next time someone says "you are poor because you are lazy," show them this!!
I just bumped into this graph on Facebook. With it, came this message "The next time someone says "you are poor because you are lazy," show them this!!".
Well, that's a very simplistic analysis, isn't it? Let's think about it for a minute...
According to this graph, whose data comes from the US (i guess?), we see a spike in productivity from the 80's to nowadays (an increase of 80%), while the salaries only increased about 8% in that same period.
Off course you CAN say that people aren't being compensated according to their productivity. But, hey, in reality, you can pretty much say whatever you want (if you live in a free country ;o)).
But that really isn't a fair analysis. If we want to be fair, let's take a second to analyze what happened during that period? Well, computers and technology is what happened.
And with these new tools, we were able to do a LOT more in the same amount of time, a lot of the times, with less work.
So is it fair to say that we are getting ripped off because we produce more than what we earn?? I do not think it is.
If you want to do a fair analysis, get a graph that shows you how the cost of living or the inflation grew over that same period! If you see the same spike we see with the productivity line in this graph (i don't think you will), then you know you are getting ripped off! ;o)

Occupy Wall Street kitchen staff protesting fixing food for freeloaders
"The Occupy Wall Street volunteer
kitchen staff launched a “counter” revolution yesterday -- because
they’re angry about working 18-hour days to provide food for
“professional homeless” people and ex-cons masquerading as protesters.
For three days beginning tomorrow, the cooks will serve only brown rice and other spartan grub instead of the usual menu of organic chicken and vegetables, spaghetti bolognese, and roasted beet and sheep’s-milk-cheese salad.
They will also provide directions to local soup kitchens for the vagrants, criminals and other freeloaders who have been descending on Zuccotti Park in increasing numbers every day.", in NYPost.
hehehe...i found this article hilarious. Guess the protesters are now getting a taste of the Socialist venom.
Yeaps, this is EXACTLY why i'm against any type of social, government mandated, assistance.
Mark my words: there will ALWAYS be freeloaders.
Oh...and here's another one i just found:
Pretty funny, ah? :o)

“We have compassion toward everyone. However, we have certain rules and guidelines,” said Lauren Digioia, 26, a member of the sanitation committee.
“If you’re going to come here and get our food, bedding and clothing, have books and medical supplies for no charge, they need to give back,” Digioia said. “There’s a lot of takers here and they feel entitled.”
Pretty funny, ah? :o)

Milton Friedman Puts A Young Michael Moore In His Place
Holy COW! That's Young Michael Moore! :oP (update: it actually isn't!)
Oh...yeah, and he totally got owned! HEH ;o)
update: a friend of mine just pointed me to this video's description, where it says:
"Holy cow! I never thought this video would get so many views. I uploaded it as a joke - this is not the real Michael Moore (although if you add some neckfat it would be hard to tell the difference). I meant "A Young Michael Moore" in the sense that a child who is great at basketball is a "Young Michael Jordan". Nevertheless, I'm glad it stirred some debate in the comment section, it's a great back and forth between Friedman and the kid, IMO. I thought the metaphor would be obvious, seeing as how the kid is a skinny redhead, while Michael Moore... well, isn't a skinny redhead. I apologize for the confusion."
So, there you go! This isn't *the* Michael Moore :o).
